“goodbye south, goodbye” was made using guitars, pedals, and vocals. It’s intended to be listened to while lying down, maybe with your eyes closed, maybe before a nap.

I see a musical kinship with the rhythm, texture, and total freedom in the films of directors like Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Kelly Reichardt, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Their films put me in a certain kind of daze, a mixture of anxiety and tranquility, and I think music can have a similar effect. But really I just love their work and wanted to write some music about it.
